A Lazy Little Weekend

Well, it's Monday again. And unfortunately, I'm a bit under the weather today. As is Addie. Not my favorite way to start a new week, but hopefully things will improve quickly.

This weekend went incredibly fast, as usual, and nothing too exciting happened. I spent a large portion of time sleeping, reading, and lounging around watching Snooki & JWoww. Feel free to judge. I judge myself for watching that ridiculousness. The only exciting thing about this weekend included having a girls night at a friends place in Dallas, but unfortunately things took a not so fun turn there. We were watching our beloved OSU Cowboys, and let's just say the game wasn't pretty. Plus, it was a 9:30 PM game, so by the end it was after midnight, we were losing, and everyone was just a little sleepy and sad. It was great to see those girls, but we agreed maybe next time to spend our time doing something that won't potentially lead to sadness :)

Also, I got a new look over here on my little bloggy! I was lucky enough to win a free blog makeover in a giveaway from Jennifer over at Finding My Way in Texas.  Emily with Designs by Emily was seriously a pleasure to work with. Going in I didn't have much of an idea of what I wanted, mainly just a color scheme, and she came up with something so cute! We exchanged countless emails, and she made every tiny change I asked for with no hesitation. If you need a new look for your blog, be sure to check out her Etsy shop!

Other than that, I finished up a couple of little spray paint projects I've been meaning to do, and I love how they turned out! Now, I'm a bad, bad blogger, because I totally forgot to take any "before" photos. But I think the "afters" are quite adorable. Arsen keeps asking me where it all will go, because it doesn't match any of our stuff, but I love these colors. So maybe we'll be doing a guest room makeover to work them in somewhere.

The best thing about these three little projects is that I spent basically no money. I bought the spray paint, and that's about it. Doesn't get much better than that! I think they all turned out pretty cute.

And that's all I've got for today. I'll be back tomorrow with my big wedding post....Happy Monday friends!

A Little DIY Inspiration

I recently admitted to my slight obsession with Pinterest. While it is a wonderful source of inspiration, what good does it do if I never do anything productive with that inspiration? It's a dilemma I think the majority of people on Pinterest can relate to.

So basically I need to start putting some of the amazing ideas that I find to work. I'm trying to spend as little as possible for the month of June (we were going to do a "No Spend June" thing, but who are we kidding?). So I need to find projects that I can do using mostly things that I already have laying around the house. So here is what I think I will be attempting:

I have some version of this. Black frame, maybe some scrapbook paper? Surely I have a dry erase marker somewhere. I don't know, we'll see what happens.

So cute! And empty wine bottles shouldn't be too difficult to come by...

I know I have a few frames with broken stands...I also have a silver frame that has started to tarnish that could use some spray paint (obviously I don't throw much away). Plus I lose my keys approximately five times a week, so it something I definitely need. This shouldn't be too difficult.

I have a pretty little mirror frame that I spray painted black, then the mirror part got broken (like two years ago). I kept it because I thought surely I would replace the mirror. I didn't. I feel like spraying it with chalkboard paint is a much more realistic goal.

So there you have it! I'm pretty excited to see if I can accomplish a few of these things. Lord knows I love a project, and Arsen shouldn't be annoyed by this one since it requires very little monetary investment. And he won't need to help me. Probably.

Next up: Pinterest recipes! Apparently I'm feeling really ambitious today. Now that I'm typing this out I'm realizing tackling all of this will require quite a bit of effort on my part. The cooking part is what scares me. So I'm gonna calm down and not make any promises. How 'bout, wish me luck? Let's go with that.
