Whew! This week flew by, but it was super exhausting. I am oh-so-relieved that it's the weekend. I have big plans for all the things I would love to accomplish...let's see if any of it actually happens. Most of it is super fun stuff like laundry, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming...all the glorious things that I've been too busy to do in far too long.
But I also have a few crafty little projects I'd like to work on. I've been wanting to make something for the front door for awhile now. Either a fun summery wreath, or a letter like something I saw on pinterest...and on one of our neighboors doors. Wonder if they would think I copied them?
Tonight the plan is to relax and catch up on tv shows. We just got back from a yummy dinner at a Thai restaurant downtown Frisco, and I'm just the right amount of stuffed. Tomorrow I really want to go to the new farmers market downtown...and Addie is supposed to be having a puppy play date! Hopefully I will be a good blogger and remember to take lots of adorable photos. Hope everyone enjoys the weekend!
Seven Questions :)
Wednesday, May 2, 2012
Alright friends, I'm going for it...I'm doing my first "link up" post! I'm linking up with Gentri Lee, who's blog I just discovered and am thoroughly enjoying :) I'm new to all this business, so here goes.
First, my funny photos. I think these are a pretty accurate portrayal of what our wedding day was like. My face in the second one is my serious dance face. And maybe a good sign that I had a few too many glasses of champagne.
1. What is your favorite day of the week and why?
Definitely Saturday. I love waking up late (anytime after 9 counts
really) and knowing that I can do whatever I want with my day. Sunday's
are nice, but I have to prepare for the week and get in bed at a decent
hour. Saturday's are the best!
2. If you decided to change your name, what would you change it to?
Hmm...I honestly think Celeste fits me better than anything I could
change it to. When I was younger I haaaated having such an uncommon,
"weird" name, but now I embrace it. And it goes well with Arsen ;)
3. What is one product you use (it can be for anything) that you feel is a miracle worker?
I would have to go with the whole Murad skincare line. I have always had
crazy sensitive skin that would break out more often than not. Since I
started using this several years ago things have improved in a major
way.
4. High heels, flats, sneakers, or boots?
Do I have to choose just one? I guess I would go with boots. I'm always
excited when the weather cools down and I can bring out all my
favorites.
5. You see your favorite celebrity (it can be any kid of celebrity-
movie star, singer, writer, political leader, blogger) walking down the
street, what do you do?
Honestly? Probably nothing. I just can't picture myself approaching
anyone. Unless it were someone super approachable like Guiana Rancic or
Jessica Simpson. In my head I'd be really great friends with those
ladies.
6. If you could pick one item to never have to pay for again, what would it be?
Food. I loooove to eat, and to have it for free forever would be amazing. But I would be HUGE.
7. What was your favorite tv show or movie growing up?
Probably Full House. I had a pretty serious obsession. I wanted to be best friends with Stephanie Tanner :)

The Challenge
Tuesday, May 1, 2012
This weekend I came up with what I think is a pretty brilliant idea. I've been calling it "the challenge". Sounds so official, right?
Basically, I am in desperate need of some motivation to get back in shape. Since the wedding things have gone downhill at a rapid rate. I'm probably the most out of shape I've ever been. Scratch that. I definitely am the most out of shape I've ever been. Arsen and I do really good for a few days or even weeks, and then we slide back in to the same routine. It's tough for us, because aside from the fact that obviously our bodies require very different work outs, we enjoy different stuff. I like to run and do Zumba (when my knee allows it), and he likes to lift.
Since I don't have a lot of good girl friends around here, I pretty much just do my own thing when it comes to fitness...which leads to the lack of motivation. So when I was chatting with my mom and my best friend Rachel this past weekend, I decided that we should all do a sort of challenge between the three of us. We all have to do at least 20 minutes of some type of exercise every day, and start eating MUCH better. That's it. It's simple, but I feel like it will make a huge difference for all of us. And it will be nice to have two other people to keep us all accountable.
I'm pretty excited about it. I'm by no means overweight, but for the body type that I have (short and curvy), it takes some effort to keep things looking right. I never had an issue with this in my former life. I literally ate fast food, tons of sugary snacks, and drank three or four cokes every day, not to mention quite a bit of alcohol and late night Ihop and McDonalds. And I consistently weighed right around 105 pounds....and then I turned 24. I think I gained 10 pounds overnight. On top of that, it's like I lost all of the natural definition that I always had. When I think about the body I had four years ago with zero work it makes me want to cry. Oh well. Guess that's what getting older is all about. Yay.
So yesterday I went jogging, and today I took Addie on a long walk and did some ab/leg/arm work outs that I found here. I'm hoping the daily group texts that me, mom and Rach are doing will help keep us all motivated.
Anybody have any great fitness or healthy eating tips? I could definitely use them!
Here are some pictures of Addie on our walk today. She's gained about two pounds since we got her....she probably needs to slim down too :)
