First Trip to the Pumpkin Patch

I have a confession: I've never been to a pumpkin patch before. Is it just me, or is this something that has become super trendy in the past couple of years? I feel like people didn't do the whole pumpkin patch thing as much when I was growing up. Anyway, after seeing a billion pumpkin patch photos on blogs and Pinterest over the past couple of years, I knew that we simply must take our first pumpkin patch trip as a family and get some adorable photos of Grayson.

So we did.

Last Sunday we dressed G up in a cozy little sweater, jeans and boots, and after a lunch at Chuy's (told you I'm obsessed), we went to a little mini-pumpkin patch by our house. I know some of these places have like, petting zoos and mini-horse rides and whatnot, but I thought this little one by the house would be perfect for a six month old who couldn't participate in much of that anyway.

We picked out two pumpkins, one big and one small. Since I'm the world's most indecisive person this took way longer than it should have. Grayson loved the pumpkins. He wanted to eat them, of course, since he wants to put every single thing he sees directly in his mouth, and he just loved touching them. It was so cute. Seeing the world through the eyes of a baby is so fun, because I mean really, pumpkins? They're cool, sure, but he was enamored. I had a hard time getting him to look away and look at me to take pictures.

I had a surprisingly good time just wandering around picking them out and taking our photos. I'm thinking this is just another thing to add to the "activities to do every year" list. There's a lot of them, aren't there?

  1. Your family is gorgeous!! Seriously, every single one of you looks like you stepped out of a magazine! Anyhoo...yes, I agree with you, I think pumpkin patches have become the in-trend thing recently. I don't remember ever going to one before we had kids.

  2. Adorable photos! I too have seen this recent flux of pumpkin patch pictures and have still never been to one. I also don't have kids yet, so maybe pumpkin patches are a rite of passage once you have a cute baby like yours! Enjoy the rest of the fall season!
